Who Am I?

Hello, everyone!

I'm Anne, a student based in Chicago, Illinois. I've played the guzheng since I was six years old. At first, I was skeptical — I had never seen this instrument in western media before, and compared to the other instruments I play (piano, and later violin), there was just so much mystery surrounding the guzheng. To be honest, it took a while for me to fully embrace this instrument. But after a certain age, I started looking at music in a different way. It's a living thing, and it's beautiful.

Music, and art in general, has been around for as long as humans have been around. This is how we express ourselves and our culture. The guzheng is unique in the fact that there is just so much culture and tradition deep in the roots of the instrument. My mission is to introduce the guzheng to more parts of the world, and to spread my culture, because it is truly something to be proud of. Remember, music is for everyone, and anyone can make art.
