Enjoy performances by me when I was younger! You might not be able to hear it upon first watch, but all of these pieces tell a story relating to ancient Chinese nature, beliefs, and stories. There are descriptions to each of these pieces, but the interpretation is ultimately up to you! My hope is that these videos will lead you to more guzheng performances online, whether they're played by professionals or aspiring students like me.

Oh, and we've also included snippets of Chinese media and dramas involving the guzheng that we thought were quite interesting! Feel free to watch them and learn more about ancient Chinese culture.

Guzheng in Film Kung Fu Hustle

Played by a pair of blind assassins, this intense, fast-paced composition utilizes sharp, aggressive plucking and frantic glissandos (sweeping across the strings) to magically manifest invisible, flying spectral blades that slice through everything in their path.
